The days of revival were over, spiritual darkness was encroaching; yet the prophet found solace in the God who sings and rejoices in His faithful remnant.
Micah along with the other prophets testified to a singular God, one who ruled and governed alone, one who would not tolerate sin, who honoured his promises. When it seemed that so many were seeking after new religions and other gods Micah stood out from the crowd to defend the God who was unique, the one and only true God. This was his calling.
This cross which Bunyan depicts is bloodless. There is no crucifix, there is no dying Saviour thereon, it has been vacated yet it represents the price that has been paid. The Roman model of a cross still holding the Saviour is indicative of their mass and of the desire to offer Christ constantly. Our faith rests on a Saviour who died once, and it is on the merits of this one sacrifice that we stand
